It is with great sadness that we write to our Porter
Family of the passing of Mike Porter on Saturday, July 11, 2020 after a
courageous battle with cancer over the past ten months. His 11 o’clock service
on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 will be held at Riegelwood Baptist Church located at
103 NC-87, Riegelwood, NC 28456 followed by burial in the church cemetery. In
lieu of flowers, the family would like you to consider donations to the
Riegelwood Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or a charity of your choice. Funeral
services will be handled by Wilmington Funeral and Cremation. Thank you for
your continued prayers.
The 2020 reunion was cancelled due to COVID-19. The FFA has assured us that they are “holding
our spot” for the same time next year assuming it’s safe to reopen by that
time.
The 2020 reunion was to be held starting June 28. Currently the campground is unavailable for
use, but the executive committee is monitoring the situation closely and will
be hopefully updating late May with better news.
Graveyard cleanup was held Feb 29, 2020. Thanks to
Bart and Kristen for providing the materials to replace the whole fence. Thanks to the 20 plus volunteers that showed
up to help with less than 48 hours notice.
Sorry to report Iva passed on Feb 21, 2020 soon after
her 2nd stroke. Please
continue praying for Louis and family.

Very sad to report Elliott Henry passed away peacefully this morning. The visitation will be Tuesday 6-8pm at Quinn-McGowan funeral home in Burgaw, NC and the funeral will be on Wednesday at 3pm at Centerville Baptist Church with burial to follow at the Garden of Memories. My heart aches to share this news. Rob and Heathers baby, Austin Thomas Absher, passed away. I am sharing his statement below. There are no words to express our sadness and love to their family.... Yesterday afternoon our son Austin passed away at Duke Hospital. He was 20 days old. We will be holding a graveside service for him Saturday 11AM at the Porter gravesite in Kelly, North Carolina. Judy Porter
Beier, that ray of sunshine and irrepressible spirit, passed away
She was the beloved wife of Karl A Beier, mother of Karli and Kory, grandmother
of
Judy passed away this
morning, Ash Wednesday, the same as her Daddy. We are all here together and she
was surrounded by love. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers and
remember all of the laughter. .Thank you for your concern and thoughts and
prayers. We are not having anything at this time. Judy would like for us to

easy for me to do. Tell them to put their name with their phone number. You can
have David send it on porter house party. Send my number to Joyce's kiddos. You
can tell I have a feeding tube. You can tell them what you want. Just let them
know I'm happy, think positive spit, out bad thoughts and have the best family
ever. I'm so lucky have a beautiful view of a river and feed hundreds of
precious birds and squirrels every day. Got a new group of black birds that
